Workshop Operative

Full Time, Great Barford, Bedfordshire

40+ hours per week – the opportunity to increase hours and take on weekend overtime.
Salary dependent on experience.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Are you a driven, self-starting individual looking for a workshop-based role with guaranteed full-time hours, a permanent contract, and a fixed annual salary? We can offer you it all, plus a free lunch, 25 days annual leave and weekends and bank holidays off!

We are looking for someone to assist the team with the mechanical repair, maintenance and occasional cleaning of returned hire equipment. We have a friendly environment where the rapid growth of our business means we support the development of our talented people.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

You will be responsible for:

  • Repairs of a range of mechanical and/or electrical tools and equipment
  • Inspecting and Testing returned hire equipment (training provided)
  • PAT testing (training provided)
  • Cleaning and maintaining the presentation of equipment including touching up paintwork and re-spraying
  • Rebranding new equipment with THX stickers
  • Using a computer-based system for administration
  • Regularly checking, cleaning, and tidying our yard, workshop, warehouse, and vehicle parking areas
  • Providing support to our warehouse, workshop and driving teams as required

WHAT WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE:

It is essential that you bring:

  • Previous experience in the maintenance and/or repair of equipment and tools
  • Mechanical or electrical experience
  • Practical understanding and mindset with the ability to work quickly and methodically
  • Willingness to learn
  • Experience in cleaning, organising, and tidying
  • Physically fit and hard-working team player
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • A can-do attitude with a willingness to help
  • Ability to concentrate whilst doing repetitive tasks

You will be required to work Monday to Friday, between 6:00am-4:00pm, 7:00am-5:00pm or 08:00am-6:00pm, and sometimes overtime may be required to meet customer demand.
