what are we looking for?
We are seeking a detail-orientated and skilled Test and Run Technician to join our team, This role focuses on ensuring the optimal performance of a wide range of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) equipment through rigorous testing, calibration, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, technical proficiency, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.
what will you be doing?
Within this role, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting functionality tests on various M&E tools and equipment, including but not limited to press-fit tools, to verify performance and operational accuracy.
- Troubleshooting and identifying issues during test runs, providing solutions to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Performing routine calibration of M&E tools and associated equipment to maintain compliance with standards.
- Maintaining detailed records of calibration data and ensuring tools meet manufacturer and industry specifications.
- Cleaning and inspecting M&E equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Following established cleaning protocols to maintain a safe and organised workspace.
- Monitoring the condition of all tools and equipment, identifying wear or damage that requires repair or replacement.
- Ensuring proper storage and configuration of M&E equipment in line with company procedures.
- Maintaining calibration and certification records to ensure all items remain compliant and have valid dates at all times.
- Accurately document test results, calibration activities, and maintenance tasks for all M&E tools and equipment.
- Communicating findings to the technical team and suggesting improvements where applicable.
- Adhering to safety guidelines and company procedures when handling M&E tools and equipment.
- Ensuring all equipment needs regulatory and safety standards before deployment.
what we would like to see
Essential qualifications:
- GCSE Maths & English above ‘C’ grade, or equivalent.
Desirable qualifications:
- Relevant certification or proven experience in a similar technical environment.
- Experience in testing, calibration and maintenance of M&E tools and equipment.
Desirable technical skills:
- General understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including calibration techniques.
- Proficient with diagnostic and measurement tools.
Essential key attributes:
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratory within a team.
- Strong organisational skills for managing multiple tasks and maintaining records.
Essential physical requirements:
- Comfortable with physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving equipment.
- Ability to work in environments where cleanliness and precision are critical.
