WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You’ll play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations in line with company procedures. This role supports the integrity of the purchase ledger and contributes to the smooth running of the overall finance function.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing a high volume of purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Matching and coding invoices.
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies.
- Preparing and processing supplier payments (BACS/Faster payments/Card payments).
- Managing the purchase ledger mailbox and responding to supplier queries.
- Process expense claims.
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting the wider finance team as needed.
WHAT WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE
Essential experience, skills & attributes for the role:
- Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP’s and Pivot Tables) and accounting systems (Sage 50).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work.
- A team player with a can-do attitude.
- Forward thinking and not afraid of change.
- Ability to challenge existing processes in a constructive way.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Discreet and trustworthy with sensitive information.
