WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The Head of Business Systems is responsible for overseeing the strategy, implementation, and optimisation of business systems and technology solutions across the organisation.
This role ensures that business processes are effectively supported by technology, improving efficiency, scalability, and performance. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments to align business needs with innovative system solutions.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
Your Responsibilities Will be:
IT Infrastructure Management:
- Work with a 3rd Party IT solutions company to oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and networks.
- Ensure the organisation’s IT infrastructure operates efficiently, securely, and supports business goals.
- Troubleshoot system issues and implement proactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
Data Management & Business Intelligence:
- Utilise SQL for database management, querying, and data analysis to support organisational decision-making.
- Design and implement interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to provide business insights.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into actionable visualisations.
- Lead cross-functional teams to optimise business processes through technology.
- Ensure the integrity and security of organisational data across systems.
Team Leadership & Vendor Management:
- Lead a team of 3, ensuring timely project delivery and skill development.
- Coordinate with external vendors for software, hardware, and managed services procurement and support.
- Develop and oversee the business systems budget, ensuring cost-effective technology investments.
- Develop and enforce IT policies and best practices within the organisation.
IT Strategy & Projects:
- Work closely with management to define IT strategies that align with organisational goals.
- Oversee the implementation of IT projects, including software upgrades, system migrations, and process automation.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance operational
- efficiency and business performance.
- Oversee the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics ERP system.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive business growth and efficiency.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency and productivity.
Security & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and implement robust cybersecurity measures.
- Monitor systems for potential security risks and respond to incidents promptly.
WHAT WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE:
Education & Experience for the role:
- Proven experience as Head of Business Systems or in a similar role, with a focus on infrastructure, data, and business intelligence.
Technical Skills for the role:
- Proficiency in SQL for database management, querying, and analysis.
- Strong understanding of enterprise applications such as ERP, CRM, HRIS, and BI tools.
- Strong experience with Power BI for data visualisation and reporting.
- Knowledge of data management, integration, and cloud-based solutions.
- Familiarity with IT systems, networks, and cloud-based solutions.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data protection best practices.
Soft Skills for the role:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
